Javonee's scholarship for comedic excellence was established in memory of Javonee Cotton because he was a light to all who knew him. He loved helping people and the arts. His work included directing and performing in a series of plays at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. After college, Javonee moved to New York with aspirations to become a successful film director. Younger brother of comedian Reece Cotton, Javonee passed away in 2014 at only 22 years of age. In the short time he was here with us on this earth, Javonee touched so many lives in such a positive way that his loving memory still makes an impact till this day. Last year's honorees received their scholarship through the 2018 Women In Comedy Festival. This year, the scholarship has expanded to include stand-up comedy.
Application deadline is November 1, 2019
2019 honorees will receive a stand-up evaluation and feedback by professionally established comedians in the industry, access to classes and passes to the Boston Comedy Chicks workshop(s).
